About my interest in psychology

One branch of psychology that interests me is sports psychology. Some topics studied in sports psychology are youth sports, personality and motivation, team dynamics and coaching, elite performance, and even non athletes. The education required to be an entry level sports psychologist is typically requires a master's or doctorate's degree in clinical psychology, sports psychology, or counseling. Jobs that relate to this field are athletic trainers, industrial-organizational psychologists, fitness trainers and aerobic instructors, physical and recreational therapists, and coaches. Coleman Griffith is known as the father of sports psychology, but some other professionals are Dr. Alan Goldberg and Dr. John F. Murray.

I am interested in this field because of my abundant background in sports. Since the I could walk, I have been playing and competing in everything possible. So by researching into the sports psychology, I feel like it could not only improve my game outside of the physical aspects and into the mental ones, but open up even more future career opportunities, because I could have a career being involved with what I love, sports and competition.
