Nature Vs. Nurture

The nature verses nurture debate is concerned about which particular aspects a child has and whether it is inherited or acquired. Nature is considered what is influenced by inheritance and other biological factors, while nurture is considered by the effect of external factors in someone's life. The debate was thought to have come to a conclusion, but with recent studies it turns out that almost everything has something to do with genetics.

Examples:

Intelligence

• Nature - People may believe ones capability to achieve greatness may come from the parent's and their level of intelligence.
• Nurture -  People believe the child's educational background and how the parents raised the child determines how intelligent the child is.

Personality 

• Nature - When a child develops a personality that neither parent displays is considered when influences around the child affect the personality.
• Nurture - The child and the parent's would have similar personalities and would seem to have been inherited from the parents by the child.

Homosexuality 

• Nature - People believe homosexuality is a biological factor and nothing more than how eye color is a trait.
• Nurture -  Many people believe that homosexuality is a choice and affected by experience and may factors around a child.

Athletic abilities 

• Nature - People will believe that certain genes are inherited by the child from the parents of good physique and allow to child to excel in competitions.
• Nurture -  A child develops his athletic abilities from training and practicing rather than it coming natural.

Musical abilities 

• Nature - Like athletic abilities, some people believe the ability to sing or play an instrument is inherited and comes natural because a parent excelled in the ability.
• Nurture - When a child must practice and work for the ability to perform.

My thoughts

In my opinion, it simply depends on what abilities and traits a child inherits. While the physical aspects like hair and eye color are more genetically attached in my opinion, the personalities that a child has is more affected by the atmosphere around the child. I believe that every one is different and for the most part has the ability to determine everything about them from what they excel at and what their personality is like.
