Learning
For this week's assignment, the topic was learning. One of the aspects of learning that stood out to me the most was acquisition. Acquisition, according to the book, is the point in the learning process at which the neutral stimulus becomes a conditioned stimulus because it causes the conditioned response. The example used in the text was that of a dog. The two stimuli were a bell and food. And the dog was stimulated to the food but had nothing to associate the bell with at first. But the bell was eventually rung when food was available and the dog ended up learning that whenever the bell would ring, food was available. So the dog as conditioned to the point that every time the bell rang the stimulus for food would respond for the dog.
Research of Learning
While reading all about learning this week I do decided to a little more research about what learning really is. learning is not something that begins at a certain time or just happens when you start going to school. Learning happens all the time and varies depending on your environment and what activities you are doing. When you are able to put more than one stimuli together and make a connection, that is considered learning. As in the case of the dog that I just previously mentioned earlier in the post.

Personal Learning
After reading about learning, I able to better understand the overall concept. What stood out to me the most was that learning actually occurs when you can connect two stimuli together. I have always heard the phrase "put two and two together" but never actually thought about it meaning. Even though learning is putting one and one together, now it all makes sense.
Real World Application
Through this I have learned a better way to study in that I can focus on two little things of a certain topic and focus on putting those two concepts together to better understand the main topic. If I am able to incorporate this idea to my studying, I feel like I will retain all of the information better and understand the topics even better. So this assignment will positively impact my future learning efforts.

Brandon I can relate with the things that you said in your blog. I think that knowing the knowledge I researched I am going to be able to study better and receive more information. You posted a great blog this week and I like reading yours. Hope you have a great week
ReplyDeleteWhats up Brandon. I really liked reading your blog. It related to mine and we both learned similar things. I think this assignment helped the both of us learn the true meaning of what learning is. Hope you have a good week and can't wait to read next weeks blog.
